Every year, the largest classical music festival in Canada offers a series of concerts performed in the Fernand-Lindsay Amphitheatre and in churches in the region. To the great delight of all spectators, whether they are seated under the roof or on the lawn, seven cameras film the musicians’ performances and broadcast them on large screens. The program includes symphonic, choral and chamber music featuring internationally renowned orchestra leaders, soloists and ensembles. For five weeks, a festive atmosphere reigns, with families, couples and groups of friends picnicking and enjoying the fresh air while listening to great works of classical music. The exceptional acoustics of this natural amphitheatre never fail to strike a deep chord with listeners. In addition to the many concerts offered at the Fernand-Lindsay Amphitheatre and in local churches, performances are also scheduled at Joliette’s Musée d’Art and at Rolland-Brunelle Hall, with other festival activities, such as movie nights and morning yoga sessions, rounding out the programming. The Festival de Lanaudière is a magical musical experience like no other!
