About us

Even 40 years after his tragic loss during the qualifying rounds of the Belgian Grand Prix, Gilles Villeneuve is still very much alive in the hearts of Quebecers and motorsport enthusiasts from around the world.

To honor the memory of the famous international racing driver, the Gilles-Villeneuve Museum traces the history of the Villeneuve family in various spheres of motorsport, while also giving a friendly nod to some renowned Quebec drivers such as Patrick Carpentier, the Dumoulin brothers, Alexandre Tagliani and Andrew Ranger.

On display are souvenirs from Grand Prix races, numerous trophies, vintage photographs, and several race cars, including Gilles Villeneuve’s very first Formula Atlantic (1974), as well as two Formula 1 BARs driven by his son Jacques (1999 and 2000). A collection as exciting as it is moving. The legend of the “kid from Berthier” is far from forgotten!
